Coconut Processing Steps by Niematuh Foodstuff Trading

-
Coconut Maturation & Preparation:
-
Fully grown and mature coconuts (around 1 year old) are stored with their husks for approximately one month.
-
This storage allows for proper water absorption and aids in separating the coconut kernels from the shell walls.
-
-
De-Husking & Shell Removal:
-
The husks are removed through de-husking.
-
The brown outer portion (known as Testa) is scraped off.
-
During this process, approximately 12-15% of the kernel is removed as paring. These parings are further processed to extract coconut oil.
-
-
Breaking & Washing:
-
The de-shelled coconuts are broken into smaller pieces.
-
These pieces are thoroughly washed and disintegrated into powder form.
-
-
Drying the Coconut Powder:
-
The coconut powder is dried using a tray drier at a temperature of 80-90°C.
-
The powder is stirred occasionally during drying to ensure uniform moisture removal.
-
-
Screening & Segregation:
-
Once dried, the coconut powder is cooled and passed through a vibratory screen.
-
Various mesh sizes are used to sort and segregate the powder based on particle size.
-
-
Final Packing:
-
After successful screening and quality checks, the powder is ready to be packed and dispatched for delivery.
